JELJELI Hassene
"A project can be an architectural seed that springs from its own soil"

Hassene Jeljeli Architect & Designer
Born in Tunis in 1991, Hassene Jeljeli is a trained architect and self-taught designer. After graduating from the National School of Architecture and Urbanism of Tunis (ENAU), he founded JK Lighting in 2018, a creative journey inspired by his father’s legacy and transformed into a laboratory for material and formal research. Working with reclaimed marble, perforated steel, and poetic assemblages, his creations reveal a sculptural language where light itself becomes matter. A finalist of the IMA Design Prize in Paris (2024) and a two-time exhibitor at SaloneSatellite, Milan Design Week (2024 & 2025), Jeljeli develops a minimalist yet narrative-driven aesthetic rooted in personal stories and local craftsmanship. His recent collection, Mystic Lamps, explores the intersection of sacred geometry, raw materials, and transparency — a gesture that is both architectural and sensorial. Based in Tunis, Jeljeli claims an intuitive and engaged design approach, deeply connected to his Mediterranean territory yet resolutely international. He has been awarded several times at Tunisia Design Week (Emergent Talent, Designer of the Year) and recognized by the International Lighting Design Competitions by Design Milk (2022, 2023). His work has been exhibited at Paris Design Week, at Musk and Amber Gallery, and featured in leading media outlets such as Designboom, Monocle, La Repubblica, Jeune Afrique, Architizer, and Huffington Post Maghreb.
